Forasmuch as my preference is having an actual conversation versus back-and-forth messaging, I have no problem with providing my number to others. In an “on the street” encounter, I would provide my phone number; why should it be any different here? Unfortunately, some become perturbed/unsettled whenever I provide my number. Though apologetic for engendering such angst, I do not plan to change my approach while striving to interact with mature “grown folk”. FYI.
