Up-South lady seeks a well-mannered gentleman who, first and foremost, loves God above all. Second, this gentleman must be spiritually grounded, yet thoroughly committed to living life in this world to the fullest. Third, my gentleman is comfortable with occasional discreet public displays of affection because affection is my love language.

This special gentleman is secure in his own personhood. He is not intimidated by what I do, but supports me in my continuing quest to become all I can be.

I'm an "up-South" woman raised with Southern values who found her calling in pastoral ministry and higher education. I am an active minister who serves my church as a teaching minister and minister of comfort. I'm a former Navy chaplain who was among the first 13 Black women ministers to become Navy chaplains. I was privileged to be the first woman chaplain to serve aboard an active aircraft carrier, the USS John F. Kennedy, CV-67.

I taught undergraduate courses in psychology and religious studies for 15 years at a Jesuit university in Colorado which is the sister school to my alma mater, the University of Detroit. Both schools were founded in 1877. I was a member of the centennial class of students who graduated in 1977.

My spiritual life is of primary importance to me. My time of meditation and study is sacrosanct. I serve God by serving others through ministry and community service with my sisters of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

My ideal date is a day trip to an interesting place or a meal at a local restaurant followed by seats at the latest movie or performing arts offering.
